Introducing: King Saturation
KING SATURATION
Meet the ruler of the shades of gray, King Saturation! With his power, he controls the light, shadows, and saturations of colors, giving us colors like brown, navy, olive, and maroon. He is very overprotective and knowing how vulnerable the queen can be, he restricts her explorations, worrying that someone will track her down, steal her power, and end the universe as we know it.
If the king's powers are disabled before the queen's, everything turns white and bright. That's not a good thing to imagine. Not even White herself is eager of imagining that, although she'd feel a little flattered by it, but that's not saying much.

As much as he does mean well to the Queen and Algoworld, he strongly reminds the queen that just because they have royal powers does not mean they have immorality, and strongly worries when the Queen daydreams of exploring the universe, fearing something out there is going to capture her. Algoliens are a myth to most alien races, and finding out the truth that they are real could put them in danger.
In the Algoworld, the King loves making harsh punishments when someone commits a wrongdoing, so you don't want to mess with not just some king, but the king of shades!
On the last post about Queen Spectrum, she responded to a question asking about her relationship with Saturation. The same asker has asked Saturation about his side of the story, as well as how algolien monarchy works, and why they don't have children.
"So basically, rulers live up to 5,000 years. They were nearing 4,980 at the time me and my wife were born. Any algolien otherwise has a lifespan like a human. So when we found out as little kids about future ruling, and our obsessions with colors and shades kicking in, we had to both give it a shot. I bumped into Spectrum at the library just like what she told you, I was very desparate to become the next king of shades. Also she didn't tell you but once you become
ruler you have no memory of your previous name. Anyway, since it's a less than once in a lifetime opportunity, there were probably thousands auditioning, but barely knew anything about ruling since they did no research, unlike we did. We worked together and studied hard, and yes, it did pay off and the former Spectrum and Saturation passed their powers down to us. I take my job very seriously as I worked super hard to earn this opportunity. And about the kids, we couldn't even if we wanted to. It's too much responsibility since we already have to keep colors in check, and rulers never had a baby in the past so nobody knows what could happen. The baby might get some sort of disability because our DNA is altered and would likely corrupt it, or Spectrum simply isn't able to get pregnant. Nobody knows. But yeah, thanks for asking."

So yeah, if you were an algolien who did a wrongdoing and your punishment is to confront the king, you messed up bad.
